1. UNDERSTAND THE FOUR Cs

A diamond's beauty comes down to cut (how well it returns light), colour (how close to colorless), clarity (how few natural inclusions), and carat (its weight). 2. CHOOSE A SHAPE THAT SUITS THEM

Round brilliants are timeless and the most brilliant; ovals look larger for their weight; emerald cuts are elegant and understated; princess and cushion cuts feel modern and romantic. 3. PICK THE SETTING AND METAL
